Dapitan: Dakak!

but of course a dapitan trip is not complete without checking out Dakak beach resort. When Boracay was beginning to become popular some years ago, I can remember people down here mentioning about a similar place here in Mindanao. Eversince I really want to see it for myself... Is it really comparable to Boracay...?

we really need to have this classic shot with the Dakak logo. :-)

we had a difficult ride from the Rizal shrine since all 8 of us need to fit inside the pickup since the 30min drive to Dakak includes a rough and dusty road... we opted to chillax first (and camwhore of course!) before we'll go for a dip or have our lunch... I was trying to go online (meet nora my lappy) to post some of our pix already...

...while the girls were having sooo much fun taking photos at the nearby hammock. :-) sooo much fun to the point that edsel even fell off. hehehe (sorry eds, i really have to post this here hihi)

all around the resort you'll find these paved walkways and trees around. :-) we were actually heading for our lunch here... we decided that we wont be staying overnight in Dakak, it will just be a daytrip for us. Entrance fee for a daytrip would cost you Php200. You only need to add Php70 if you want to have their set lunch.

we saw him playing the piano while we were waiting for Caress to complete making arrangements for our lunch. :-) no photos of our lunch though, we were sooo hungry we all forgot to take photos hehehe :D the set lunch was good already! we were served veggie salad, bread and butter, the meal (rice, pansit, chicken). instead of dessert we were given drinks instead. you'll really feel full with their lunch, tastes good too! :-)

here's some views around the resort. :-)

notice the white sand? i was told that these are actually not natural for Dakak. They were just brought it from i forgot where hehehe...

Dakak is more of a cove, that's why you'll notice the short shoreline...

they have kayaks too!

and jet skis... but i think they're a bit pricey....

everyone was excited to take a dip and use my zeke (underwater cam)... at first i got excited too when i saw how clear the water was. but after my first try, the photos seem murky (unlike our sta cruz island shots last year)... still everyone wants to try an underwater photo hehe, here's one of the good ones... that's joy and juvee, iv asked them to use shades so it wont be too obvious that they have their eyes closed underwater hehehe

more photos during the swim before zeke ran out of batt. :-) visitors can opt to climb that mountain behind us for a sweeping view of Dakak resort...

more camwhoring... we were on our way back to our pickup when i noticed the bouganvillas all abloom. :-) at the same instant juvee was under it so i asked her to pose for me... using my cannon color accent we got this shot before my batt went off... :-) FYI, bouganvillas' bloom peaks during summer, they love the sun too! :-)

if you've been to other really really nice white beaches around the Philippines, Dakak will no longer be that impressive for you... the convenience of the resort, i guess, is what adds value to it and not really the beach... i'll give Dakak resort a 6 out of 10 rating. :-)

    1. hi! we only chose the day trip... we only had lunch there and lounge around until we're bored... the day trip at that time (2010) was Php250 per person, and that includes a lunch meal already.... :-) we didnt rent any cottage or whatever there...so that's basically just what we spend... :-)
