2012 wishlist

i know February's about to end tapos ngayon lang ako mglilista ng wishlist ko for 2012.... well i have all these things in mind at the start of the year, i just wanna have it documented so i have some checklist to lookback to at the end of the year.... as of this post i was able to tick off one from the list already!! so let's see how far i'll be able to commit to this list... :-)

Trips:
1) Merloquet!!! been drooling about this waterfalls since 2010...
2) Malamawi beach!!! that white beach beyond sta cruz island.... that white beach in Basilan... :-)
3) Victoria falls and cave. been to the cave back in highschool when we had our science camp there... pero wala pa akong camera noon, and i can still vividly remember how fun it was... i just wanna go back again... plus to see the Sieta Andanas falls being promoted by the barangay lately... 
4) explore 3 more zambo possible tourist-worthy hidden places (on top of nos.1-3). who knows, this explore zambo mode ng mga kaladkarin this year would eventually lead us to find out about more pretty places in zambo city (which is still unknown to me as of this post)
5) trip with my boys. destination: Antique. haven't been to my pop's place since college... haven't been there since i had my own digicam... i still have clear images of Antique (specially Valderrama!) in my mind, i wish i can go back and take actual photos.... 
6) kitakits with my gurlfriends from GE. heard one's leaving pinas soon... since i left GE, i still get to see them at least once a year pa rin.... i just hope we won't miss 2012 and still get to have fun together... :-)
7) surf!!! im not really good at it, but at least i can proudly say kaya ko ng tumayo sa board!!! i miss the feeling stoked! this one's a bit impossible this year but i still keep my fingers crossed hehehe
8) attend a Mindanao bloggers get together (MBS6 or the Socsargen's). after attending MBS4 2years ago here in zamboanga i'm hyped by the idea of Mindanao bloggers uniting to fight the negative publicity of Mindanao in the net... by blogging beautiful things about Mindanao, we can provide more search hits that are positive when people wants stuff about this big-of-a-place down here...


and here's a list of other stuff i wanna buy or do for my cute little family... :-)

1) itouch/ipad. get us this... im sure this will be perfect to tame pao later if we'll tag him along during our lakwatsa. :-)
2) sewing machine. recycled or new kahit ano basta i wanna learn how to sew my own clothes!!!
3) at least 100 posts for each of my 3 active blogs. still a long way to go as of this post. 
4) dslr. a long time dream nyaha! i dunno why i still cant get myself to buy one... cguro dahil it's too bulky for impromptu photos which i love to take... :D
5) an unusual 1st bday for pao (i prefer a trip pero ang gusto ng daddy e party muna dahil 1st bday)
6) lose 35lbs and 11.5inches off my waist! (starting weight:160 waist: 39.5")
7) run a 5k, 10k and a full marathon!!! 
8) pimp our room. room muna, di ko pa kaya ang buong house... i need more closet space na! and i want the room to look happy always!
9) get a better car (bwaha! posible kaya?)
10) bake at least 3 recipes this year! i got an electric oven as a gift during our wedding last year, anniversary na nya pero i have not done anything with it yet... 
11) try video blogging for at least 3 trips... :-) i guess this'll be more fun... i just hope i will learn how to edit videos well. :-)
12) grow my own herb garden. with basil, rosemary, thyme, tarragon, mints, dill and whatevers.. 
13) read at least 3 really good books. (Paulo Coehlo's Brida won't count, because i started reading it back in 2009 but still unfinished to date... but i have to finish that this year still.)

my "more fun in the Philippines" memes!!!

i excitedly waited for the launch of the new campaign... and indeed was not disappointed when i first saw the first few photos and the website.... that was friday morning, and then over the weekend hundreds of memes came out... i was really itching to do mine too but to be honest i was taken aback by the "Switzerland" issue... but then the memes kept on coming and i am convinced, this is one good campaign, i'll jump in too! good thing my friend Kevin helped me download the font.... and i was able to create 22!!!

Malacanang issued Proclamation No. 295 declaring the regular holidays, special non-working days, and a special school holiday for 2012.

old school mails

i can't remember what drove me to go through my stuff last February... probably the wedding preparation did... and i encountered my old letters.... most of these were sent to me by highschool friends, kuya and mamang when I was in 1st year college in UP.... the internet was just beginning to take over the Philippines at that time, it's not as accessible now as it was back then (i remember paying Php60/hr before in some net cafes in UP Shopping Center!!!). 

These made me realize how much i miss exchanging written letters with friends before... just imagine how much effort is being put in each letter sent... from what stories to tell, what stationary and pen to use, if some time can be spared just to write letters, if it will be sent an ordinary mail only or will need a special delivery.... i really really appreciate that we had these correspondence before, it helped me cope with my sudden new life in Manila... these exchanges went on until the 2nd semester of my 1st year (1998-1999)...after that, we're all hooked with the net... and exchanges became less and less... either because it's easier and faster and can be done just anytime or we just all end up too busy with college....

but it's nice to see these letters again.... very heartwarming, made me smile after reading all the gossips and secrets shared... since we will be fixing the room for the baby, i will be kicking out some old stuff, but these... these pretties will remain close to me, so its staying... :-)

this kind of communication is going to be extinct any time soon, i'm pretty sure.... which gave me an idea just now.... *wink wink!*

my usual penpals: cherry, ela, monira, kuya, mamang, izzy, julius.... had a letter or 2 from hubby leo (i did not allow him to send me letters then, but he found a way! haha)

little secret

there's something that i've been wanting to tell the whole world for some time now... i'm usually the kind who squeals right away when something excites me.... but this time, although a lot of my friends know already.... i still choose to find the perfect time.... :-)

so no squeling for today.... not now...not yet... :-)

i was feeling disappointed when i saw that i was given an "F" seat which is on the east side of the plane going to manila.... i was disappointed because i particularly asked for a window seat on the left side which will be the sunset side of the plane (i was travelling between 530pm-7pm).... but my mood changed when i looked out my window to try taking photos of clouds during twilight... because these are the views i got!!! and i remembered UP Astrosoc was even gathering that night to observe the supermoon!!! (moon's closest to earth this year).

been wanting to blog a little summary of my fave trips/events of 2010 since after christmas last year but work keeps getting in the way... although i still have a lot to do in the next 2weeks, just want to make sure this blog lust is covered... hehehe

i thought of coming up with a top 10 or something, but i just simply love all of the things that i was a part of last year... so here goes! :-)

1.) my first time in Basilan! although it was a visit to my dude's folks there, im glad we were able to do a little tour of Isabela City's town.... i particularly loved the playtime with my new fave kid Churit.

my thoughts on the 4th Mindanao Bloggers Summit

first heard about Mindanao Bloggers Summit last year from my friend Grace... i cant remember how our conversation started but her mentioning of the bloggers summit she attended in CDO got me intrigued... and all the more giddy when she told me it'll be in Zamboanga this year. :-)

i just started to blog last year.... and this is my first time to go to a blogger's event... i did't know what to expect.... i went there not knowing what exactly i want to get out of it.... once i got there i realized it will be a whole day worth of talk... i was worried i will get bored, thinking i should have brought my laptop with me... but to my surprise i loved every bit of the summit.... the speakers were great, i like what they talked about and how although they went there independently but each of their message complements each other... and i didn't even think of getting a cup of coffee just to keep me up the whole time.... i was hooked from start to finish! :-)

i'm sure almost all of us had gone through a stage where we begged our parents to buy us a balloon when we saw a manong with all those colorful floaters.... :-)

but when did these shaped and printed balloons replaced those good old round ones in parks? i cant remember.... just woke up one day to see these everywhere and the simple round ones are just being used in parties and motorcades, no more park life for them...

honestly, i prefer the round balloons.... i find them happier to look at and less complicated hehe
